Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

Experience a luxury Kruger Park safari

The name Timbavati comes from a Shangaan expression meaning ‘the place where something sacred came down to earth from the heavens’. This extraordinary reserve encompasses a vast 60 000 hectares of magnificent savannah on the western border of the Kruger National Park. Straddling the border between Hoedspruit and Acornhoek, on the western edge of the world-famous Kruger National Park, this wildlife-rich reserve has no fences allowing animals to roam freely in their natural habitats. Timbavati can be reached via any of the three regional airports that have well-served daily flights from Cape Town and Johannesburg. Hoedspruit’s Eastgate Airport is the closest – a quick 30min road transfer away.
