Shaded by age-old jackalberry and leadwood trees, Simbavati River Lodge rests on the banks of the Nhlaralumi River and offers an authentic African Safari experience. Spectacular Game Viewing
Enjoy a morning, afternoon and evening game drive which gives you more than enough time and opportunity to view a vast variety of African wildlife in their natural habitat. Game drives are led by experienced rangers and Shangaan trackers in open 4X4 safari vehicles. The Big Five are a huge drawcard for visitors as well as the plethora of other wild animals inhabiting the bushveld. While exploring over 12,000 hectares of African bush-covered terrain, visitors can look forward to spotting the Big Five including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo; as well as over 40 mammal species such as warthog, giraffe, kudu, zebra, and monkey to name a few.
Night Drives & Rich Birdlife
Simbavati Trails Camp is best known for its world-class walking tours. A trail-based safari will allow you to immerse yourself in the mesmerising sights, sounds and smells of the African bush. Enjoy a 3 to 4 hour leisurely walk in the morning and 2-hour walk in the afternoons with an armed specialist guide to experience the African wilderness from a ground level perspective on foot. Not only will you track wildlife, but you will also learn about the environment which includes learning the uses of a variety of flora and how to identify tracks of different animals. Spot the Big Five, as well as an array of other wildlife including giraffe, kudu and hundreds of bird species.
