Situated in southwestern Uganda, the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is said to be Africa’s oldest rainforest. Home to roughly half of the world’s mountain gorilla population, it is famous for its excellent gorilla-sighting opportunities with a 90% success rate. This not-to-be-missed gorilla experience is set among a rugged landscape of thick jungle, sparkling mountain streams, deep valleys, steep ridges and cascading waterfalls. Set in the remote northeast corner of Uganda, Kidepo Valley National Park is an isolated wilderness destination. Stretching from the shores of Lake Albert, Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest protected wildlife sanctuary. The park’s major attraction, the Murchison Falls flowing from the ancient Nile River, is a dramatic sight to behold. Flourishing savannah grasslands and lush riverine woodlands fringing the Nile create a rich habitat for a diversity of abundant wildlife to thrive. Enjoy top-notch game-viewing along the Buligi Circuit and spot a wide selection of animals, including numerous primates, buffalo, elephant, Rothschild giraffe, lion, waterbuck, hippo, crocodile, spotted hyena and various antelope species.
Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts breathtaking scenery, wild landscapes and rich wildlife. Covered in lush forests and grasslands, it is home to over 600 species of bird and almost 100 wildlife species, including waterbuck, buffalo, elephant, antelope, and chimpanzees, among others. It has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any reserve in the world. This magnificent park hosts four of the Big Five, a large concentration of hippo and flamingo and the unusual tree-climbing lions of Ishasha.
