After a full rebuild, Jack’s Camp is back. Set in the heart of Botswana’s Kalahari Desert, Jack’s Camp is an oasis of comfort and style. This sparkling diamond in the Kalahari is a legend with a history stretching back to the 1940s. Surrounded by magnificent scenery and unique desert landscapes, the camp features spacious guest quarters in an unbeatable setting. It provides the ideal base to discover the scenic surrounds rich in wildlife. The interior design of the camp boasts rich textiles complementing the very stylish old-world glamour feel. This exclusive destination is one of just three in a vast private wildlife reserve and offers exclusivity and solitude. Lazy afternoons can be spent reading books in the comfortable sitting areas or in your private plunge pool overlooking the Makgadikgadi pans.

The Rooms

Each suite features old-fashioned luxurious safari tents, reminiscent of a by-gone era. There are nine in total, seven twins and two doubles each measuring up to 270 square metres in size. There are beautiful ensuite bathrooms which feature both indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a veranda with a private plunge pool.

Spectacular Game Viewing

Jack’s Camp is ideally situated to explore and discover the wildlife and diversity of the surrounding landscapes. Guests can look forward to spotting year-round desert wildlife including oryx, brown hyena, Kalahari lion as well as nocturnal animals spotted in night drives such as aardvark, honey badger, porcupine, and bat eared fox. Don’t miss the opportunity to get up close with a group of habituated meerkats and enjoy the once in a lifetime opportunity to view the annual zebra and wildebeest migration.

Spoiled for choice

With the wide variety of extraordinary activities on offer, guests can look forward to quad biking to Kubu Island, sleeping out under the stars amongst giant boulders and ancient baobabs, spotting a wide selection of wildlife on a horse-riding safari or a desert game drive, and discover the ancient secrets of the landscape on a walking tour with the local Zu/’Hoasi Bushmen of the Kalahari. Don’t miss a visit to Chapman’s Baobab, the third largest tree in Africa!

All-year-round activities

  • A maximum of three safari vehicles are allowed at any one sighting, avoiding overcrowding and making for a top-notch safari experience.
  • The opportunity to spot the elusive honey badger on a night game drive.
  • Don’t miss the Skybeds experience, where guests can spend a night sleeping under the African night sky on a bed atop a multi-level timber platform.
