The Sabi Sands is famous for its Leopards. The area between the Sabi and Sand rivers that run through the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve ( where it gets its name ) and into the Kruger National Park holds one the highest concentration of Leopards in the world.
This is because this area is such a productive area for predators like Leopards and so they can have reasonably small tertitories to hunt, mate and raise their young.
