Engagement at Silvan Safari Lodge

A magical engagement at Silvan Safari Lodge in the heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve

When we were approached by one of our guests to help him book and plan a romantic proposal in the heart of the African bushveld, we jumped at the opportunity to make it a memorable and magical experience neither of them will forget. With the help of the wonderful team at Silvan Safari Lodge in the renowned Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, we put together an unforgettable safari engagement experience in one of the most magnificent locations in South Africa.

Engagement at Silvan Safari Lodge - Secret Africa

When we started the proposal planning process, we knew we had to incorporate four very important components to make this engagement extra special – an incredible safari, a beautiful African sunset, a stunning setting, and of course, the element of surprise!

First, we arranged for Warrick and Jess to go out on an exciting evening safari in the magnificent Sabi Sand Game Reserve in search of Africa’s Big 5. Half-way through their safari, we had a private safari vehicle pick them up and whisk them away to a stunning secret sundowner destination overlooking the unspoiled African wilderness, which we beautifully decorated with lanterns to create the perfect romantic setting for a magical proposal moment. Just as Jess was about to admire the spectacular sunset over the savannah, Warrick got down on one knee and asked her that all-important question – Will you marry me?’

SHE SAID YES!!!

After revelling in the moment and soaking up every glorious second of their magical African safari engagement, Warrick and Jess were treated to a specially prepared private dinner on the deck of their luxury suite at the Silvan Safari Lodge under the star-studded African night sky to further celebrate this memorable occasion.

We wish Warrick and, his now fiancé, Jess nothing but the best and a lifetime filled with love, happiness, adventure and many more bucket-list worthy safari experiences! We are beyond elated and honoured that they chose us to be a part of this momentous occasion and plan an unforgettable safari engagement they’ll cherish for many years to come!

Secret Africa
Mountain Gorillas are one of the most delightfully friendly and loving animals in the world 🦍 While many find them to be extremely ferocious creatures, they are actually the total opposite in nature and can warm up to humans easily compared to other wild animals 🤗 They are quite shy, but they are also very smart 🤓Unfortunately, the species is drastically decreasing in numbers because of human encroachment and conflicts near their African homes. They are considered an endangered species. Many tourists from all over the world fly to Africa just to get a glimpse of these magnificent creatures 🦍Perhaps the interesting things about them will help spread awareness and make it easier to fall in love with them more.📍 Check out our link in bio to find out more interesting facts about mountain gorillas 🦍 ... With its seven distinct habitats, Phinda Private Game Reserve is often described as ‘Seven Worlds of Wonder’, a magnificent tapestry of woodland, grassland, wetland and forest, interspersed with mountain ranges, rivers, marshes and pans 😍Showcasing one of the continent’s finest game viewing experiences, the reserve is home to Africa’s Big Five, as well as 436 bird species 🐦Set in a rare and beautiful sand forest, the glass walls of Phinda Forest Lodge’s 16 air-conditioned suites offer a sweeping view of one of the most unique ecosystems on the planet 🌱 A dense canopy provides privacy, and floor to ceiling windows invite the forest in, with the wonderful opportunity to view wildlife roaming outside your glass “bubble”, fluttering birds nesting in the foliage and the gentle rustle of forest sounds 😱🎵On the edge of the forest, just before a clearing that overlooks a small waterhole, lies the lodge’s sparkling rim-flow swimming pool 💦 an ideal respite in between game drives. Expansive decks in the spacious guest area, look out onto panoramic views of an open grassy meadow. In the evenings 🌑 when warm firelight welcomes you to the traditional African boma, wide-eyed bush babies watch inquisitively from the trees above, as you indulge in a lantern-lit feast beneath a canvas of stars ⭐Photo by Phinda Forest LodgeWant to book your stay?
