The Rooms
Segera Retreat has six private, uniquely appointed villas. Guests can enjoy spectacular views of Mount Kenya and the wide-open plains of Laikipia from their elevated timber and thatch suites. The villas are elegantly decorated, layering natural textures and tones with billowing white-linen curtains. Privates verandas offer visitors a luxurious space to unwind while viewing a variety of free-roaming wildlife. The rooms all feature large ensuite bathrooms with incredible stone showers. Some provide private kitchens and dining areas where Segera staff can arrange a curated dining experience with the talented local chefs at the retreat. An undeniable highlight is the sleep-out experience in Segera’s Nay Palad Bird Nest Hideaway.
Game Viewing and Luxury
Guests at Segera can indulge in a wide range of activities from helicopter safaris, game drives, and guided game walks, to enriching community visits, indulgent spa treatments, culinary delights, gourmet picnics, a cooking course or simply unwinding while watching life unfold in the wild.
Conservation and Community
Segera Retreat endeavours to achieve a healthy, holistic balance of the 4Cs – Conservation, Community, Culture and Commerce – with multiple innovative initiatives. The proceeds from the one-of-a-kind accommodation, the Nay Palad Bird Nest, helps Segera to conserve and safeguard its wildlife, land and local communities. Conservation activities include the formation, training, and employment of Segera’s all-women anti-poaching ranger unit and the establishment of the largest rhino sanctuary in East Africa.
What We Love
Segera is an art lover's dream where guests can enjoy the rare opportunity to view the private contemporary African art collection of Segera's owner, Jochen Zeitz, who is also the founder of the Zeitz Foundation. Segera offers guests complete exclusivity and is the perfect retreat for those who want complete privacy and a tailor-made experience. The abundance of wildlife will ensure close encounters, including some endangered species such as Grevy's zebra, patas monkey and African wild dog.
