Designed to blend into the unspoilt Okavango Delta wilderness, the Duba Plains Camp is imbued with the spirit of a safari camp from days gone by and offers sweeping views across floodplains filled with iconic African wildlife species. Guests can look forward to discovering incredible landscapes characterised by a kaleidoscope of palm-dotted islands, water channels and lush woodland. This incredible terrain served as inspiration for the Great Plains Conservation co-founders - award-winning National Geographic filmmakers, conservationists and explorers: Dereck and Beverly Joubert.
The Rooms
This exclusive camp is comprised of only five bespoke safari tents, each with a spacious verandah, lounge area, and ample room for private dining. The beautifully appointed en suite bathrooms are equipped with double basins, indoor and outdoor showers and a luxurious bathtub. Guests can cool down in their private plunge pool, lounge on outdoor day beds and admire the breathtaking views of the floodplain.
Exceptional Game Viewing at your Leisure
Guests can arrange their own itineraries to create their personal dream safari experience. Enjoy game drives, track animals with experienced guides, appreciate intimate and up-close wildlife viewing from lions and leopards to elephants, lechwe, buffalo and everything in between. When water levels permit, guests can paddle through the reserve’s fascinating waterways and channels on traditional mokoro canoes.
Commune under African Stars
At the heart of the camp are the comfortable communal areas featuring an inviting outdoor sitting area with a centred fireplace to unwind and swap safari stories of the days excitement. This area boasts a raised deck dining room shaded by lush trees, where freshly-prepared and delicious meals are served. Night drives create a mystical ambience with the glimmering eyes of nocturnal wildlife spotted at every turn.
What We Love
Duba Plains Camp is continuously working to lighten their eco-footprint and have instituted composting, above-ground greywater management systems, solar-powered heating for geysers and the use of biodiesel where possible.

Duba Plains Camp is located in one of the Delta’s most remote concessions in the private 33,000 – hectare Duba Plains Reserve in the northern reaches of Botswana’s Okavango Delta.
