The Rooms
Five ‘treehouse’ suites can accommodate up to fourteen guests within the double-tented suites and family suites. Set on raised decking, the luxurious safari tents are spacious and offer guests magnificent views amongst the treetops. Each suite boasts an en suite with a shower and a superb copper bathtub. The elegantly furnished accommodation captures the romantic ambience of its stunning surroundings and nostalgic old-world charm.
Wildlife Viewing and Photography
Mara Nyika’s suites come with a pair of high-quality binoculars as well as a professional Canon camera set for guests use – a Canon 5D camera body, 100-400mm and 24-70mm lenses in each suite. Guests can enjoy day and night safaris through the wildlife-rich plains in vehicles customised for photography, capturing shots of the incredible game and natural beauty and making memories to keep for a lifetime.
Culture and Community
For those wanting to immerse themselves in the local culture, a visit to the traditional Maasai village known as ‘enkang’ is a great highlight. Guests can join a local ladies beading workshop or purchase locally-made handicrafts at the camp; all of the proceeds go towards the local community.
What We Love
Mara Nyikas’ commitment to sustainable practices and community upliftment efforts, while offering an exceptional and luxurious guest experience, is commendable. Guests can float above the expansive plains on a thrilling hot air balloon safari or unwind at the world-class spa.
Where To Find Mara Nyika Camp
The Mara Nyika Camp is set on the western side of the private and exclusive 20 000-hectare Naboisho Conservancy, the second-largest conservancy in the greater Maasai Mara region in Kenya’s Great Plains. The conservancy strives to protect natural and cultural heritage, boost tourism, and create opportunities for the local communities. This camp lies in an exceptionally rich wildlife area as it is in the corridor of the famed Great Migration, where tens of thousands of wildebeests migrate to the area to follow the rains. Guests of the Mara Nyika Camp often combine their stay with some other camps in the area to experience other stunning wildlife areas, such as the private Olare Motorogi and the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve.
